I have a diploma in dental assisting. I want to go into dental hygiene. Should i do that, or become an RN?

i'm not x-ray certified, which in columbia SC is pretty much a must to get the job, or you have to have 2 year experience. How would you become certified?

Dental hygiene is a great profession. And most of the time, they aren't open on weekends, so you'd always have free weekends! That isn't always the case if you opt for an RN job. If you are still wanting to be an RN though, you should speak with someone at one of the local colleges, and see what courses you'd need to take, etc.
Reply:Dental Hygiene is great. I work 2 days out of the week and the rest of the time is spent with my 5 year old daughter. Being and RDH, you can choose your own days as in with nursing, don't you have to work like the really crappy hours and not get good pay?? I don't know, but that's what I thought.
