I am a bit confused about how it all works..i see you can get an assisting certificate or degree .. but then there is dental hygiene which is a more advanced degree than assisting. and hygienist degrees can vary from certificates to bachelors degrees.. I am looking into the alabama dental hygiene program .. I will have to go through the program for dental assisting and then i will come out with an associates in applied science.. After that i will have to have a dentist sponsor me and almost do an apprenticeship with him and i will take test and go to seminars about once a month.. My question is will i be able to advance to a bachelors degree or higher after i go through all of this.?.. what are the leverls of dental work?? anyone been through their state hygiene program?any advice would be much appreciated.thanks in advance
Levels of education in the dental field?
Hi Cary,
Do you really wanna spend the rest of your life looking down the mouths of God knows what? It's all fine and dandy that you might get patients with semi-Hollywood beaming sets of gnashers that you see in the movies.
However, looking into the mouths on a day-to-day basis of what might resemble rows of derelict buildings might change your mind!!
Think hard, baby!!
