Try iHireDental.com. The classified ads are good, too. I got fed up working in bad offices all across the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and ended up putting my resume online. I'm not a fan of posting my personal business for all the world to see, but it paid off in a big way! I recently relocated to Las Vegas, and I have the best boss and co-workers ever. I was also told while I was in school that assistants are needed in the New Jersey area. I don't know if you are able to relocate, but I would have missed out on the oppurtunity of a lifetime had I not kept an open mind. Plus, it's Vegas, baby!!
Why is it so hard to find a dental assisting positions after you finish school?
Send out resumes to all offices in your area. Many positions are not advertised in the help wanted ads.
Reply:Either you are in a really small town or you are not using your resources. I see assisting jobs in the paper and on craigslist everyday. There are positions in private practice, clinics and hospitals. Dental assistants have a very high rate of turn over because people get hired, fired, or quit so often which is wjy you see positions in the paper so often.
It's also true that it's not what you know but who you know so maybe you should try networking. I encourage you to keep looking you'll find something.
Reply:I see positions like that in my local newspaper everyweek. Have you also tried online job sites, and getting a professional to do your resume' so you can just send them out to different offices in your area. Even try a temp agency that specializes in placing in a medical office
Reply:There might be a low demand in your area. Like others said, try job sites like monster or careerfinder.
