How do I impress the Office manager or the Dentist, what should i say or not say when asking permission to internship in their practice? Should i call first, or just walk in? Should i wear scrubs or regular clothing?? *sorry for all the questions, but please help*
Im planning on taking my board exams for Dental Assisting in two months, but am looking for an internship*help
I would ask in person.
Present yourself as if it was an interview, and not wear scrubs. Explain to the Office Manager/Head Assistant what your plans are (with taking the Boards) and you are interested in doing an internship as a means of additional study....
By asking in person, you get to meet the office staff and they get a chance to meet you, face to face. Phone calls are 'blind'... you never know 'what's' at the other end, in either case.
Good luck to you! ........and good luck on your Boards!
:)
Reply:I would def call first ask to talk to the office manager, the last thing you want to do is walk in while they are busy and start off on a bad foot..say you are very interested in learning at there office , whatever hours you can come in your willing you would really appreciate them helping you out and your willing to do anything around the office..when you do go in dont wear scrubs..dress nice just act like its a real interview and good luck..we had a girl do an intership at my office and she was extremly lazy and showed up late.. make a good impression bc dental offices are constantly in touch with eachother so dont burn a bridge at one..and good luck
